Country Clubs in Jacksonville FL
Our methodology for what constitutes a country club is a golf course and clubhouse with some level of membership options. Most of the time, that will include a tennis program and a swimming pool in addition to the clubhouse and golf course.
In the Jacksonville area, as in most cities, these two types of country clubs exist:
1. Private Country Clubs within a master planned community.
Country Clubs within a master planned community are built specifically to include a golf club / country club within the community. There hasn't been many of these built in the last 10+ years. Atlantic Beach Country Club would be the only exception, and it was more of a "reinvention".
These country club communities offer more than the typical community. Many of the newer built master planned communities are touting "Resort style amenities", and that's something the country club communities already have.
Most of these communities have different levels of membership and almost all have some form of guest play option.
2. Private Country Clubs without a master planned community surrounding it.
There are only a few of these within Jacksonville. The most recognized would be Timuquana Country Club, San Jose Country Club, and Pablo Creek Golf Course. Obviously, you can live near these clubs but they aren't in the middle of a master planned community.
Ortega would be the area to live if you are most interested in Timuquana Country Club.
Live in San Marco if you are interested in San Jose Country Club.
Pablo Creek Reserve is directly next door to Pablo Creek Golf Course.
