HOA Rules. Similar to gated or condo/townhouse communities, most golf course communities have an association, which not only adds to your living expenses but also limits what you can and can’t do outside your home. Even if you can afford the monthly or annual dues, be sure you’re okay with whatever rules the HOA enforces. 

Golf Membership Required. Sometimes living in a golf course community means a course membership is required. And sometimes those memberships can be quite pricey. So always be sure to check what the membership rules and regulations are before deciding whether a certain community is the right fit for your lifestyle.
