While not every home or condo on a golf course provides sprawling, unobstructed views off the course, the ones that do provide a pleasant and tranquil setting you won’t really get anywhere else. In many ways, it’s almost like living right smack dab in the middle of a meticulously landscaped park or botanical garden if you’re lucky enough to own a home with panoramic views of a Jacksonville golf course.  

The Cons 

Expensive. As alluded to above, golf course homes have a unique demand over other property types, and many homes built inside Jacksonville golf course communities tend to cross into that luxury threshold. So expect home prices to be a bit higher than in non golf course communities. 

HOA Rules. Similar to gated or condo/townhouse communities, most golf course communities have an association, which not only adds to your living expenses but also limits what you can and can’t do outside your home. Even if you can afford the monthly or annual dues, be sure you’re okay with whatever rules the HOA enforces. 

Golf Membership Required. Sometimes living in a golf course community means a course membership is required. And sometimes those memberships can be quite pricey. So always be sure to check what the membership rules and regulations are before deciding whether a certain community is the right fit for your lifestyle.
