Designed by Clyde Johnson, this country club is essentially carved from a forest of pines and winds through lagoons and wetlands. The entire course measures 7,200 yards from the tips, but there are five sets of tees for players of all skill levels. You can bring the family or enjoy an afternoon of more challenging golf on your own. You may encounter wind, water hazards, and the occasional two-tiered green, but there are numerous well-placed bunkers throughout the course. Including the cart, fees run from about $35 to $70, depending on the time of day and year. 

The King & The Bear - World Golf Village

Any golf enthusiast will want to visit the beautiful World Golf Village in St. Augustine, but The King & The Bear 18-hole championship course makes it a truly special destination. Famously co-designed by Jack Nicklaus and Arnold Palmer, this golf course bears their nicknames and is the only of its kind to be the collaboration of two Golf Hall of Famers. The two combined their awesome power to create this scenic golf course which pays homage to the heritage of the historic city of St. Augustine with its links-style layout. On the back nine you can expect to see stunning 200-year-old oak trees, Loblolly pines, and plenty of water features. The signature playing styles of the golf giants are evident in the fast greens and inviting fairways of this course. Green fees range from $69 to $169 and up.

Royal St. Augustine Golf and Country Club

Royal St. Augustine Golf and Country Club is tucked in a residential neighborhood conveniently located just minutes from historic downtown St. Augustine, FL. It’s not your typical breezy, wide open course, but rather a more challenging 6,529 yard, 18-hole public layout that winds through lush foliage and wetlands. Known for its narrow fairways and well placed bunkers, numerous lakes and large greens, it is a tight golf course that is less forgiving for newer golfers. Luckily, there are four different tee positions so that players of all levels can enjoy its well-maintained grounds and friendly staff. There is an inviting clubhouse with a full bar and menu to enjoy after your round. Reasonable rates range from $21-$37, depending on the day of the week.  

The Golf Club at South Hampton

315 S Hampton Club Way, St. Augustine, FL 32092

The Golf Club at South Hampton offers a unique family-owned and operated experience. This 18-hole, 72-par beauty is known for its spectacular landscape, which features rolling greens and fairways, ample large lakes and manicured lawns. It is also lauded for its famously welcoming staff. You will be eased into the round by the front nine but enjoy the challenge of the tougher back nine with its adventurous holes. This Marc McCumber design is known to be enjoyable and playable. You can count on the conditioning to be good and the greens to roll well. Reasonable rates run from about $45 during the week to about $69 on weekends.

Slammer & Squire Golf Course - World Golf Village

2 World Golf Pl, St. Augustine, FL 32092

Slammer & Squire Golf course is named after two World Golf Hall of Fame legends, Sam Snead and Gene Saraze, who collaborated with course-designer Bobby Weed to create this 18-hole, 6,939-yard course. This scenic gem curves through native flatwoods and hardwood hammocks, coursing alongside a wildlife habitat and wetland preserves. You can expect tricky par-3 holes among an abundance of lakes and marshes, as well as generous, rolling fairways and contoured greens. The price ranges from $69-$149 on weekdays and up to $209 on weekends.
